HARDWOOD PLYWOOD

Most of our hardwood plywood is manufactured with a poplar core.

We and the majority of our customers find this preferable to fir or lauan because of its strength and workability.

All plywood is '' A'' grade with either a 1 or 2 back, both of these are considered good both sides and all sheets are stamped with the grade on the edge.

FACE GRADE ‘'A''

Commonly used for faces only. No defects are allowed and any joints or seems must be book matched. Different characteristics such as but not limited to worm tracks pin knots or mineral streaks are more common in some species than others and are allowed but limited to occasional.

BACK GRADES #1 & #2

The back is the least exposed side of the panel and a variety of imperfections may be allowed depending on the species. Mismatched joints are allowed along with but not limited to worm tracks pin knots and mineral streaks. There will be no open knotholes or splits.

BACK GRADE #4

This is the lowest grade manufactured. If used we suggest that this back is never exposed due to the high number of imperfections allowed. Open knots, splits, worm tracks and many other natural and manmade characteristics and imperfections are allowed. If the back of this panel is visible at all we suggest using the higher quality.
